Finding the right Paleo snack can be rough unless you plan ahead. Just like I always have hard boiled eggs on hand to grab in a bind, I always have a home made trail mix.
I vary it up from time to time. As it gets low, I throw in whatever new dried fruit or nuts I’ve picked up. Buying at a warehouse club will really save you with this one as nuts aren’t cheap. But, at a health food store like Sprouts or Whole Foods you will get the greatest variety of nuts and seeds to make your concoction. No rules, just have fun. Well, no grains, that’s the number one rule for me anyway!
This is super simple and healthy. Nuts are high in heart healthy fat but also calorie so don’t go nuts with eating too much of it. Ha ha!
All you need is to pick up some almonds, walnuts, pecans, raw pumpkin seeds, macadamia nuts, etc… You got it, anything goes here. Nuts, seeds, twigs, berries, tree bark, whatever. Try dried cranberries, dried blueberries, banana chips or similar in to the mix. When your on the go, fill a small bag with this mixture and you can’t go wrong. A healthy way to fuel you up.
