In an effort to get back into the swing, or sandbag swing of things, I will be creating and posting all new workouts once again! I hope to do this on a weekly basis like I once did. I love being able to skip the gym and train at home! I’ve lived in the gym for the past year and love a break if even 2-3 times a week. I’m excited to be incorporating more of my functional training along with my ongoing lifting schedule during my improvement season. I’ve really missed performing these workouts due to the intense nature of my figure specific training over the past 8 months. At one time, I would incorporate them where I could, but after spending 1-2 hours a day training for competition, there wasn’t much steam in me to do these in addition to my strict training plan. I’ve missed the improvisational fun of this type of training. Training on instinct and attacking weaker areas is so much more fun for me.
I’ve lost a lot of strength in my core due to being cautions about widening my waist. It’s been a challenge for me all year long because I have very narrow hips which has always made me look straight up and down on stage. To correct this, I’ve had to add size to my back and quads to give the illusion of an hourglass shape, which sadly, God did not bless me with. Oh well, it is what it is. I’m back to training my abs much more frequently, though I’m still careful not to twist or do oblique targeting movements.
Today’s workout definitely puts focus on the legs. If you’re overdue for a good leg workout, make this the one! Good luck!!
