Hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.  I enjoyed some downtime on Saturday, but that was about it.  I really needed the day off and listening to your body helps to prevent injury and over training.

My observations this week are interesting for a couple of reasons:

  • I feel mentally strong
  • Food is a non-factor at the moment.  Going into this show with a Paleo outlook has already helped it be an easy transition.
  • Physically gaining strength and overall conditioning
  • Actually seeing legs changing shape and abs popping out more

My trainer will check my body fat this week.  If I had to guess, I’d imagine I’m around 10-11% but I’ll be interested to see for sure.  I have no clue what I weigh so this is a good jumping off point.   At 5’5″ I am usually around the 117-122 mark, but I do not weigh myself.  This is likely something that comes from the eating disorder I faced as a young girl.  I’ve learned not to fixate on a number.  I use how my clothing fits and how I feel as my measure of where I’m at.  Last show I was only down 3-4lbs from where I was to begin with from start to finish.  It greatly helps to stay near show ready year round.

On an exciting note, I recently had the privilege of working with a photographer that really “gets it” when it comes to physique modeling.  He has worked with some of the best in the industry.  You can imagine I was quite humbled when he chose me for his feature talent for this month.  You can read the interview here.
