Many of us wish for things we do not possess, but do you take time each day to find gratitude for what you do have? Focusing on what you do have instead of what you wish you had will draw more of the good stuff to you. We aren’t all 6’ tall and a model sample size figure, but we can value the beauty we do possess. After all, our differences are what make us each unique.

In accepting the things I cannot change about myself, I have learned to overshadow that negativity with a positive attitude and appreciation towards the things I am proud of. I may not have my looks, but I sure as hell have a pretty rock star personality and sense of humor. The ability to laugh at myself and find value or humor in unfortunate situations are a couple of my great traits, if I do say so myself. Ok, my legs aren’t that bad either, but this isn’t just about the physical.

Learning to project a sunny outlook on less than sunny situations will greatly lend itself to attracting wonderful things into your life. When it comes to health and fitness, your mental perspective is a tremendous element to your success. You are a reflection of what goes on in your mind. A strong will and follow through is what makes a champion. The physical training is but a small part of that outcome. Envisioning greatness for oneself is the only way to achieve it. Overcoming naysayers, doing things you don’t want to do, all create your outcome in whatever you feel passionate about.

I make a point to smile at complete strangers and say hello to everyone I make eye contact with and try my best to exude a positive energy as much as possible. While I don’t always get it back, I know I’ve done my part in being my authentic self. Don’t be afraid to pat yourself on the back for the great things you do and have achieved. You should be proud! Be your own validation!
