Santa Wants a Sandbag Workout Video

Today I have a quick and efficient sandbag workout featuring some great total body movements.  You grubbing may be a bit off track lately with your heavy holiday social schedule, but don’t fret!  You can always find time to grab a 12 minute workout to ramp up your metabolism before you head off to Temptation Island.  If you’re like me, you’ll find a bit of comfort in knowing you ate a clean meal and got a quickie in before being surrounded by tasty and unhealthy holiday eats.  Try to fill the tank with clean fuel and you’ll eat a bit less junk when surrounded by it.  Its not rocket science, its all about making better choices.  If you mess up today, there is always tomorrow to right your wrongs so don’t be too hard on yourself.  We are only human.

Watch again next week when I make a better attempt at keeping my head in the shot.  Yes, proud to say I wrote, produced and edited this little masterpiece myself ; )  It will be improving as the weeks go on, but it’ll be nice to look back and see where it all started.  Yes, I’m fancy!

Workout:

Gymboss 18 rounds 10 rest/30 work

  • Alternating Arc Press with Alternating Lunge Back
  • Front hold single leg deadlift (left)
  • Clean, press, squatAlternating shoulder press with alternating lunge back
  • Front hold single leg deadlift (right)

What is the general weight you use in the sandbag?

It definitely varies depending upon the workout. This particular workout was really tough 🙂 I used 23lbs of water in the water filler insert for this one. If you need to work with a lighter weight, just add a few lbs each time you try a workout as your strength progresses. Some movements are definitely more challenging in terms of core engagement and balance and require much less weight. Thanks for asking!
