This morning when I woke, I found that I had slept straight through the night. I was shocked. It was the second night with our new puppy and I must have done something right, because he slept from 10-7. Not bad! The first night was a whole other story, but I won’t go there.

I did a pretty rough Bodyrock workout today since having been away for the last 3.5 weeks and unable to utilize all my favorite pieces of equipment. During my travels, I was pretty consistent with my workouts. My eating was mostly on point and I did lots of bodyweight HIIT sessions, but ran 3-4 miles a handful of times too.

I brought my sandbag on the trip, but I would’ve had to hunt down some sand to use it. I discovered that Ultimate Sandbag has a new water filler bag. I ordered one last night and I’m certain that this will be a game changer. It will utilize your core and stability even more and will be so convenient to travel with that it’s a no brainer. Keep you posted once it arrives.

After a rough workout, I made a light lunch with grilled, dry rubbed chicken, apples, pecans, slivered almonds and cran-raisins. I drizzled a bit of balsamic vinegar on it. I’ve done a lot with broccoli slaw and asian cabbage blends lately when I want a change from lettuce and it has a nice crunch too.

For dinner, we had some friends over to catch up and grilled some ranch burgers. I ate mine sans bun as you see here. Was tasty:) I also smothered it with Frank’s hot sauce which I’d drink if I ever ran out of water. Geez, I think I’m actually drooling now…

If you’ve made any great Paleo recipes lately, I’d love you to share.  Please post on my FB wall.  I’m running low on inspiration lately.  It’s so hot and the last thing I want to do is turn on an oven.
